Are you aware of what your conscience is?
If you’ve watched Pinocchio, you have come across the concept of a conscience. The conscience given to the little wooden puppet was called Jiminy Cricket, and Pinocchio was urged to always let his conscience be his guide. His downfall came when he didn’t do that.
However, since we’re not little magical wooden creatures, we have in-built consciences.
The word for conscience is related to knowledge, and that means that every human who has a conscience—which is all of us—every human therefore has built-in knowledge…
That doesn’t mean our consciences are our only guide, but it does mean that our consciences are a very important guide. Therefore, we should consider our consciences and think more about them. They are a relevant part of who we are, and we don’t talk enough about them.
