Any suffering that you go through, use it to cause you to cry out to God, which is what the people did, which we read about in Nehemiah 9, verse 27— ‘When they were oppressed, they cried out to you from heaven. You heard them, and in your great compassion, you gave them deliverance.’
It’s very rare for us to be able to pinpoint the reason for the suffering that comes into our lives. For us, it is not an exact science; it is for God, but it is not for us. And yet, what we can say is that for every single ounce of suffering, both large and small, that comes into our lives, the right reaction is always to do what’s described for us in Nehemiah 9, verse 27: to cry out to God. And amazingly, from heaven, God the Father will hear us, and he will give us deliverance. He will rescue us from the hand of our enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil. What a wonderful promise!
