Acts 10:9— ‘Peter had gone up onto the roof to pray.’
Now here’s a striking thing… the language that Luke chooses to use for Peter going up onto the roof is the language that’s used in the Old Testament of pagan worshippers in the nations, who go up onto their roofs to worship. Now, those pagan worshippers were sinning, because they were rejecting the temple, but Luke is indicating that a great change has taken place—it’s now possible to pray up on a roof and not choose to worship a false-god, but to truly come to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
