Other Notes
- RE: Ceredigion Rali. Martin Lewis (National Director of Sports Chaplaincy Wales) and perhaps some others are coming for the Rali and will be supporting our efforts outside AP (they are also directly involved with the Rali).
- Rhodri plans to be at the Mid-Wales and Borders Fraternal in Newtown on Tuesday the 15th.
- Do look out for students new and old on Sunday the 20th!
- For the Christian Union “Grub Crawl” on the 21st, Alfred Place and Eglwys Efengylaidd Aberystwyth are providing the starter for students, the students are then visiting St Mike’s, Elim and then Freedom Church. All are encouraged to come and speak to as many students as possible and welcome them to AP. Help also needed to provide/serve food (speak to Lucianne).
- Student Welcome Tea on the 27th: Listen out for notices about how to contribute. This is a great way of serving and spending some time with students who are considering settling at AP during their time here.
- Whole-Church Prayer Meetings: 1st, 15th, 29th / Small-Group Prayer Meetings: 8th, 22nd.
- The weekly Women’s Fellowship meets on Wednesday mornings in AP basement at 10:30am (TBC in Sunday notices).
- Causeway continues to meet between 11 and 12:30 every Wednesday. It is a time of worship organised by the staff of the homes that grew out of Plas Lluest (the home for adults with learning disabilities set up by Alfred Place four decades ago). There is singing, reading, prayer, and sharing of the word, all geared towards the Plas Lluest residents and others with additional needs. The format is usually singing until around 12, then Rhodri (or someone else) speaks, then there’s prayer, and then there’s tea and biscuits with an optional bring your own packed-lunch, followed by some more singing. It takes place in the Community Space in Tesco. All welcome (you don’t have to stay for the whole time).
- The monthly Bible-Reading-Groups are currently on Numbers 1–25. All church members are encouraged to read the chapters and to consider Christ as you do. Those attending the groups (Women’s Evening / Men’s Breakfast / Bible Club), do keep a note of Christ-centred observations and questions to share with/ask one another. The next Bible-Book section will be Numbers 26–36.
- When able to, those manning the Book-Table go out every Saturday (weather and personnel-permitting) 11am–12:30pm. Members, speak to one of the elders if you are interested in joining the work.
