Other Notes
- Note that Rhodri is attending the Mid-Wales and Borders Fraternal in Newtown Evangelical Church on the 16th of September. A fraternal is a group of brothers in the ministry designed for mutual encouragement and edification. This fraternal is represented by churches such as Tabernacle Baptist Church, Llandrindod Wells; Nantgwyn Baptist Church; and Welshpool Community Church.
- There is no special Good News Service this month, but do be praying for the next one—Harvest—on the 19th of October.
- The Pilgrim’s Progress – A Guided Tour is a course curated by Ligonier Ministries which we’re running every other Monday in the basement. Derek Thomas (who was converted in Aber, became a member at AP and served as a deacon for a short time with us in the 1970s) is the video tour-guide. We listen to him for twenty minutes or so and then we talk over some discussion questions. We aim to be done within the hour. This month:
- 1st: The Delectable Mountains
- 15th: The Celestial City
- 29th: A New Journey Begins

- Whole-Church Prayer-Meetings: 2, 16, 30 | Small-Group Prayer-Meeting: 9, 23
- There are three small-groups led by each of the elders. Speak to Rhodri, Ian, or Eric if you are interested in joining one of the small-groups.
- The weekly Women’s Fellowship meets on Wednesday mornings, in AP basement at 10:30am (TBC in Sunday notices).
- Message from the Women’s Fellowship about Blythswood Shoeboxes:
Would you be able to fill a shoebox with gifts for needy families in Ukraine and Eastern Europe?
There are leaflets in the porch and bookshop with all the information.
Deadline for shoeboxes – October 31st.
See Betty if you need any help. Thank you. - Causeway continues to meet between 11 and 12:30 every Wednesday, it is a time of worship organised by the staff of the homes that grew out of Plas Lluest (the home for adults with learning disabilities set up by Alfred Place four decades ago). There is singing, reading, prayer, and sharing of the word, all geared at the Plas Lluest residents and others with additional needs. The format is usually singing until around 12, then Rhodri speaks, then there’s prayer, and then there’s tea and biscuits with an optional bring your now packed-lunch, followed by some more singing. It takes place in the Community Space in Tesco. All welcome (you don’t have to stay for the whole time).
- Message from the Women’s Fellowship about Blythswood Shoeboxes:

- The monthly Bible-Reading-Groups’ are currently on Joshua 21-24. All church-members are encouraged to read the chapters and to consider Christ as you do. Those attending the groups (Women’s Evening / Men’s Breakfast / Bible Club), do keep a note of observations and questions to share with/ask one another. The next Bible-Book-section will be 2 Corinthians.
- When able to, those manning the Book-Table go out every Saturday (weather & personnel-permitting) 11am-12:30pm; members, speak to Eric if you are interested in joining the work.
