Other Notes
- New Years’ Day Social: Please contact the deacons if you need help finding where it is, or a lift to get there.
- Note the special Good News Service to commemorate the beginning of 2025. We will be singing New Years’ Hymns, praying and reading the Bible with the new year in mind, and listening to a New Year sermon full of the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do invite friends. Poster here:
- The 3, 2, 1 Course is an interactive evangelism course for those interested in the Christian faith. 3 stands for the fact that God is Trinity. The 2 covers the fact that the world is shaped by two representatives, Adam and Christ. The 1 stands for our one-ness, highlighting the fact that by default, we’re one with Adam, but that through faith, we can be united with Christ. There are four sessions which will take place every other week, finishing in mid-February. All welcome. Feel free to come on your own, or to bring a non-Christian friend.
- The Vision-Week is an opportunity to—over three evening-sessions—talk about the direction that we need to pursue as a church this year. Members should make every effort to be at all three sessions and to contribute to discussions… they’ll be great! All three meetings will start at 7:30pm and will be downstairs @ AP.
- Session 1: Monday 27th
- Session 2: Tuesday 28th
- Session 3: Thursday 30th
- Dan Pugh is a documentary filmmaker and videographer, he has created three cinematic, feature-length, historical documentaries (Welsh Awakenings [2023]; Revival [2022]; Matthew Henry [2019]). He’s coming to speak about his work so that we can pray for him.
- Whole-Church Prayer-Meetings: 7th & 21st (28th: Vision-Week) | Small-Group Prayer-Meeting: 14th
- There are three small-groups led by each of the elders. Speak to Rhodri, Ian, or Eric if you are interested in joining one of the other two small-groups.
- The weekly Women’s Fellowship meets on Wednesday mornings, in AP basement at 10:30am (TBC in Sunday notices).
- Causeway also meets between 11 and 12:30 every a Wednesday, it is a time of worship organised by the staff of Plas Lluest (home for adults with learning disabilities set up by Alfred Place four decades ago). There is singing, reading, prayer, and sharing of the word, all geared at the Plas Lluest residents. It takes place in the Community Space in Tesco. All welcome. (Starts up again on the 8th)
- The monthly Bible-Reading-Groups’ are currently on Matthew 10-18. All church-members have been encouraged to read that book and to consider Christ as you do. Those attending the groups (Women’s Evening / Men’s Breakfast / Bible Club), do keep a note of observations and questions to share with/ask your group. The next Bible-Book-section will be Matthew 19-28.
- When able to, those manning the Book-Table go out every Saturday (weather & personnel-permitting) 11am-12:30pm; members, speak to Eric if you are interested in joining the work.
