Other Notes
- Note that Rhodri is going to the Banner of Truth Ministers’ Conference from the 7th to the 10th.
- For the walk up Constitution Hill on Good Friday, we will meet at the Bandstand at 12:30pm, and walk to the hill from there, bring a packed-lunch to eat at the top. Those who aren’t able to walk up the hill can go on the Cliff-Railway which runs every 10-15 minutes (adults pay £7.50 for a single ticket up the hill, or £8.50 to go up and back down).
- Note the special Good News Service all about the Resurrection on the 20th (Easter Sunday). We will be singing well known Easter hymns, we will pray, and read the Bible with the resurrection in mind, and listen to a sermon all about Jesus rising from the dead. Do invite friends and neighbours. Poster here:
- The Pilgrim’s Progress – A Guided Tour is a course curated by Ligonier Ministries which we’re running every other Monday in the basement. Derek Thomas (who was a member at AP and served as a deacon for a short time with us in the 70s) is the video tour-guide. We’ll listen to him for twenty minutes and then we’ll answer some discussion questions. We’ll aim to be done within the hour. Sessions this month:
- The Cross & The Sepulchre
- The Hill Difficulty
- Note Rhodri and the family are away from the 21st – 25th for an Easter break.
- Whole-Church Prayer-Meetings: 1st, 15th & 29th | Small-Group Prayer-Meeting: 8th & 22nd
- There are three small-groups led by each of the elders. Speak to Rhodri, Ian, or Eric if you are interested in joining one of the other two small-groups.
- The weekly Women’s Fellowship meets on Wednesday mornings, in AP basement at 10:30am (TBC in Sunday notices).
- Causeway also meets between 11 and 12:30 every a Wednesday, it is a time of worship organised by the staff of Plas Lluest (home for adults with learning disabilities set up by Alfred Place four decades ago). There is singing, reading, prayer, and sharing of the word, all geared at the Plas Lluest residents and others with additional needs. It takes place in the Community Space in Tesco. All welcome.
- The monthly Bible-Reading-Groups’ are currently on Exodus 21-40, however, due to Easter, there will be no Men’s Breakfast or Women’s Evening this month. All church-members are still encouraged to read the chapters and to consider Christ as you do. Those attending the groups (Women’s Evening / Men’s Breakfast / Bible Club), do still keep a note of observations and questions to share with/ask one another. The next Bible-Book-section will be Song of Solomon.
- When able to, those manning the Book-Table go out every Saturday (weather & personnel-permitting) 11am-12:30pm; members, speak to Eric if you are interested in joining the work.
