Remember, Jesus is not going to die again because all that was owed in his death has been paid by him dying. Death no longer has mastery over Him. He is not under the grip of death anymore; he is no longer dying for sin because he has already died for sin. So, he is not going to die again, and that means we are not going to die once we are raised again…
He hasn’t got sin to die for anymore—he’s only got God to live for—and that will be us too…
We no longer have sin and its penalty to pay for—Christ has paid it—which is why we no longer have to go to hell to pay for our sin.
So, though we still dwell in the flesh and must face physical death, the sting is taken out of death, because we don’t have to go to hell when we die…
The sin that would have landed us in hell has been paid for. Hell has already been suffered when Jesus died on the cross.
