Everyone wants joy. Everyone wants to be happy. Have that in mind as your end goal—your desire for them. Bring them along to church. May that be your motivation to invite them: the power in this message that’s preached in church.
So listen to Moses who preached to Pharaoh and the Israelites, who pointed to the signs, and the end result was great joy because the Israelites were released from Egypt. You have the great joy of Exodus 15 in the singing, the dancing, the tambourines, and the rejoicing. That’s what our preaching may bring about—people being released from slavery to sin, singing with us in church, rejoicing with us.
Join Paul in what he says in Romans chapter 1: he’s not ashamed of the gospel. Why’s he not ashamed of the gospel? Well, because it’s the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. Your speaking a word to someone who’s an unbeliever may lead them to experience joy like they’ve never known.
