We can all begin by getting on our knees and praying:
“Oh Father, please forgive me my sins. I’ve been so sinful, lived as your enemy. I’ve done nothing good; I deserve nothing from you, but please forgive me. Please repay my debts and give me your Son’s righteousness. I would not ask for it if you did not promise to give it to all who ask.[1] Please forgive me. And then, may I forgive others. May I respond to your forgiveness by forgiving others. I know that if I do not forgive others, I’m proving that you’ve never forgiven me. I’m proving that I’ve never experienced your forgiveness. But I want to be forgiven, and I want to forgive others. So please help me to do that.”
You should pray a prayer like that and start to see the connection.
